It is with a heavy heart that I write and post this update.
The Government have released the new Tier Data for local lockdowns going forward, and Lincolnshire has been moved from Tier 1 (lowest) to Tier 3 (highest). This is a massive blow for all of us.
This new Tier will come into place as the National Lockdown ends, and will be reviewed again on the 16th December 2020.
I will always be honest with our members, this lockdown has been a tremendous strain on my mental health, my ability to see a way forward and to continue fighting towards a future.
That said, I will continue to fight – for me, and for our ability to provide a space for people to socialise without the anxiety for finding things to say, for spending time engrossed in an activity which allows us to forget our issues for a brief time and for the reduction of isolation, loneliness and social exclusion.
It may seem that everything is against us but we will prevail. Despite the pressures and challenges 2020 has presented, All Access Games has made huge gains even through this tough period.
Over the course of 2020 the following has happened:
· Initial set-up of the group working initially with Mansions of the Future. Moving the location to ‘Dave’s Gaming Store’ (Goliath Games).
· The construction and formation of a Governing Constitution following consultation from our members.
· The successful formation of a Governing Committee. The successful opening of a Community Group bank account with HSBC.
· Despite lockdown the successful completion of over 35 meetings. Despite lockdown the successful connection of over 500 face-to-face interactions.
· Successful invitations of people from the Volunteer Centre Service into the group.
We will continue to monitor the situation with Lockdowns, and fight to re-gain spaces where we can successfully meet and enjoy each other’s company over tabletop, card and boardgames.
We look forward to seeing you all again face-to-face safely and securely. Keep fighting; we are all struggling at the moment but please know that none of us is alone, if anyone needs to reach out or share news then please use the messaging system to reach me personally or this blog to share with everyone else. We will get through this, eventually and will experience many adventures together across the gaming table!
